Annotation

The aim of this four-semester course with a documented microcertificate is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and competences that will enable independent use of Czech at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and orientation in the historical, cultural and social realities of the Czech Republic.

Results of learning

Knowledge
The graduate is able to:
• state the basic historical, political, geographical and demographic facts about the Czech Republic and about various areas of its culture and social life;
• describe the phonetic and orthographic system, selectively characterize the lexical and grammatical system of Czech.

Skills
The graduate is able to:
• identify the main ideas expressed in standard Czech on common topics encountered at work, school, leisure, etc.;
• identify the main and secondary ideas of texts that contain vocabulary frequently used in everyday life;
• identify and interpret facts about real life in written and oral communication.

Competences
The graduate is able to:
• engage in unprepared conversations about topics related to everyday life;
• connect phrases in a simple way to describe experiences and events, their goals;
• briefly justify and explain opinions and plans;
• tell a story or outlines the content of a book or film.
